Self-esteem has both positive and negative affects depending on if an individual has low or high self-esteem.Low self-esteem is associated with emotions by many factors. A child who is abused may suffer from low self-esteem. That child may suffer physical abuse or mental abuse, either way, this is a cause of low self-esteem. Emotionally, low self-esteem affects a child?s development in many ways.Negative experiences result in lack of self esteem. Life without self-esteem confines a person to a life with less money, less desirable employment, lesser interactive nature and less socialising. Issues leading to low self-esteem are abuse, influence of friends, influence of media and health issues.


If you suffer from lack of self confidence, it is important to discover what causes this in you. If you can identify why you lack confidence, you can begin to take steps to improve this area.
